Day One - First Logged Kilometres.

13 km walk.

I can tell you now, I am glad I started upping my kms kilometres before the start of this challenge.

If For Fitness Sake was 4 months ago I would be in so much pain, and would not be motivated to go again tomorrow.

However, nothing sets the scene walking along the beach at sunrise. So many people out walking, joggin, swimming and bike riding. It a motivator in itself. Even though the sun was not up when I started it was already warm, it was a 40 degree day today and its going to be the same tomorrow.

So I might pack some swimming shorts and cool down in the water tomorrow morning after at least another 10km walk.

I wonder how everybody else did on the first day.

Nine Days To Go and Not Feeling The Love.

Well there is nine days to go before I set out to do 100km in 10 days by walking.

I am getting more confident on achieving these goal, however a little nervous and somewhat un-motivated, that I am not gaining enough support for my motivation to be over 100%. I have done other fundraising challenges in the past and have done a good job on raising past my goal. The past challenges were certainly for important causes. However, I really feel more strongly about helping kids with disabilities getting the best start in life. Maybe people are scared or has never been affected by caring for a child with a disability, or having a disability themselves. And I get that. I just find it odd that I can't get any donations then the ones I have recieved so far.

Although this feels like I am not getting anywhere in supporting these kids, I am still determined in asking for support and walking 100km in 10 days. This is my biggest challenge to date.

So if you are reading this, please supporting me with this challenge and the kids that need this much needed funding by going to my for fitness sake page and make a donation. Any donation of any size is highly appreciated.

It has Began - For Fitness Sake!

Already people have told me they think I am crazy attempting to walk 100km in 10. But there are 2 reasons I think this crazy isn't a bad thing.

1 - I coordinate Disability Services here in Adelaide for an amazing Not-For Profit Organisation, Uniting Communities. The life lessons I take home all the time from meeting some of the most amazing people really have been a life changing experience. Therefore, bedsides supporting people in the community, this is a tiny way of showing support for all the Children with a Disabilty, by raising important funds to assist them in getting the best supports they need now, to ensure the best future outcomes they will need.

2 - I started a journey of walking almost every morning. I get to average 5 kms in one walk, and this is a incentive to take it to the next level. I may seem crazy, and I know I will hurt and half way through probaly start to whinge. However it will be nothing compare to the amazing people who live with complex issues everyday of their life.

So it starts here, letting everyone know what I am doing to gain as much support and needed funds. Let the walking begin.

Support my efforts to help kids with a disability!

This March, I’m taking part in For Fitness Sake and challenging myself to get moving to support children living with a disability. It won’t be easy, but I’m getting out of my comfort zone for a fantastic cause. Please get behind me and make a donation to sponsor my efforts as I take on this challenge to allow these kids to get the support they need to give them the best chance at life. All funds raised will support the House with No Steps early childhood intervention programs to change the lives of kids living with a disability. Thank you.

Thank you to my Sponsors
